Attendance
In the performing arts being a part of a class is a responsibility. It is impossible for your performer to progress if they are not in class. When a student misses class they fall behind and special time needs to be taken to catch them up with the rest of the group. Each member of the class relies on each other to show up and put forward their best effort and dance performances only work when every student is prepared.
Dance and Theater Attendance Policy
Students may miss THREE class periods per semester (August-December, January-May) in order to participate in the performance or to be considered for advancement. A student who misses 4 consecutive classes will be dismissed from the class, no exceptions. Students will not be allowed to participate in class if more than 15 minutes late. If a student is injured, they are still expected to come and observe class to ensure they don't fall behind.
April and May are "blackout" months. Students are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED not to miss class during this time as we are preparing for the end-of-year concert.
To excuse a performer from class, parents must do so in the parent portal or by calling or emailing the front desk before class starts. Our front desk can be reached at 801-415-4135 or frontdesk@encoreacademyut.com.
We appreciate your cooperation as we strive to deliver the highest quality education possible for your performer.
