What students explore in tumbling and acro

Students can work on foundational skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and bridges, along with balance and body control. Skills and progression depend on the student’s experience and the class. Ask us what to expect at the level you are considering.

Finding the right class

New to tumbling or bringing experience from another class? Tell us about your child’s age, experience, and goals so we can help identify a starting point. Class labels and the level guide are useful starting points; skill and experience matter too.

The schedule labels Tumbling/Acro 1A and Tumbling 1B for preschoolers who are 3 turning 4; those dancers must be potty trained. Tumbling/Acro II is labeled preschool, 4 turning 5, and III is labeled kindergarten, 5 turning 6. These labels do not by themselves confirm placement or availability.

For a younger child, Parent and Me introduces dance or tumbling for ages 2–4. Parent or caregiver participation is encouraged but optional. Ask us which option fits your child’s readiness.

What to wear

Tumbling and acro students may wear a leotard, fitted tank top, or unitard with leggings or dance shorts; the dress code also lists black joggers for male dancers. Classes are barefoot, and hair should be secured in a tidy ponytail or bun. See the full tumbling and acro dress code for details.
