Risa Bean

Risa Bean grew up in Orem, Utah and started learning cello at 8 years old with Shauna Bowman. She was inspired to pick up an instrument after seeing an orchestra performance during a school assembly and has been playing cello ever since! Risa studied cello with Dr. Brent Smith at Snow College and earned her Bachelor's in Commercial Music. She also won the Snow College Concerto Competition and had the opportunity to perform alongside artists like Kurt Bestor, Craig Jessop, William Joseph, Nathan Pacheco, Jenny Oaks Baker, and Kansas.

One of Risa's passions is teaching! She had amazing and passionate teachers in her journey growing up and wants to provide that same experience for her own students. Risa tailors and focuses the teaching experience on the student and their needs and goals, as well as provide a fun experience! Learning an instrument can be hard, but it can also be so meaningful AND lots of fun!
